Why Do We Love? (Video)

This is a very fascinating look at the emotion of love. Why do we form deep attachments? What is the purpose of falling in love? I love the answer an eight year old gave when he was asked “why is there love between two people?”… he said, “I think you get shot with an arrow or something, but the rest of it isn’t supposed to be so painful.”

Barring any pain we may feel, Helen Fisher may have some answers. Helen is an anthropologist with Rutgers University, specializing in gender differences and the evolution of human emotions.

In this wide-ranging talk, she outlines the bio-chemical foundations of love (and lust), and discusses the natural talents of women, and their new significance in the modern world. — Cool story at the end.
